This is to reduce the risk of workplace injuries associated with incorrect moving and handling of inanimate objects. At AMO, services are offered to many sectors including educational settings, childcare settings, factories, healthcare facilities, hospitality, offices, transportation and warehousing.

- Definition of a manual handling operation
- Introduction to the principles of safe handling of loads
- The anatomy of the spine and the causes of potential injury from a manual handling operation
- Useful tips for good back care and postural awareness
- The duties of both employees and employers under the current health and safety legislation
- How to conduct a manual handling risk assessment using TILE
- How to implement control measures when performing a manual handling task
- Practical element demonstrating the key components of safe handling procedures, lifting, pushing and pulling of loads
Services
AMO provides manual handling training for organisations who want to provide relevant up to date training for their employees in the area of manual handling training and back care awareness.
This is a 3 hour course and is delivered in-house. It is suitable for a maximum of ten participants.
Training is provided in a friendly, professional manner.
Certification is provided at the end of the course following completion of a learning outcomes assessment. It is valid for 3 years.
