Evacuation Chair Training Course

This training programme can be conducted together with a manual handling course or as a stand alone service. This training is suitable for all learners who work in or attend a facility with an evac chair in the building.

This short course provides all participants with the knowledge and skills to safely handle people in their workplace while using the Evac chair. 

The key components of this training include- 

• Correct assembly of the chair
• Indications for use of an Evac chair 
• The principles of Manual handling
• How to correctly move and transfer an evacuee in the chair
• Correct storage of the Evac chair

There is a practical element to this course where all participants will get an opportunity to use this piece of equipment. Learners will be continually assessed by the trainer throughout the duration of the course and will be required to perform a practical lifting assessment and demonstrate correct technique at the end of the session.

Course duration

This course as a stand alone course lasts for 1.5 hours.

If incorporated with a Manual handling training course it lasts for approximately 4 hours.
