The Evacuation ski sheet is widely recognised within the healthcare sector, education sector and childcare sector as a vital aid to mattress evacuation of very sick or disabled people from wards, nursing and care homes, and educational/ childcare facilities in an emergency situation.
The evacuation ski sheet has been safely tested to a maximum weight of 250kg.
The recommended safe working load for a ski evacuation sheet is 120kgs for 2 people.
Following changes to the Fire Services Act 1981 in 2003, the fire service is no longer obliged to provide a complete evacuation service to premises. The responsibility is now placed on the business owner. Changes to the Disability Act states that everyone must have the same right of evacuation in an emergency.
At AMO HEALTH, we offer a short training course in the correct use of the Evac sheet. This course is practical in nature and offers participants the necessary skills and knowledge to safely handle using the evac sheet in their workplace. It is suitable for learners who work at or attend premises with an Evac sheet.
It can be offered as stand alone course or incorporated in with a Manual handling course.
Course duration
It lasts approximately 1.5 hours as a stand alone option or 3.5 hours in conjunction with a manual handling course.
