AMO HEALTH was established by Anne Orr in June 2024. I am married to Paul and a mother of 6 children. Following a career break, I decided to return to work outside the home. After careful consideration, rather than returning to a clinical setting I opted to apply my professional expertise and life skills to set up this business delivering a comprehensive range of health and safety solutions aimed at a wide range of clients.

I graduated from the University of Ulster with a BSC(HONS) degree in Physiotherapy and worked for many years in the NHS and in Private Practice as a clinical specialist in the management and rehabilitation of soft tissue, orthopaedic and sports related injuries. I worked for seven years in the delivery and development of Back Care Awareness and Manual handling Training programs including Risk Management in the NHS. I have a Post Graduate Diploma in Patient Moving and Handling from the University of Northumbria (UK) and I am a fully QQI level 6 Accredited Manual and Person Handling Instructor. 

An issue close to me is the case for raising awareness around the impact of menopause on women in the workplace. Despite the conversation shifting around the topic of the menopause in society, the fact is a staggering number of menopausal women are actually leaving their jobs or struggling at work due to lack of adequate support. As a menopausal woman and coming from a health care background it is an area that I have developed both a personal and a professional interest. Knowledge and a greater awareness are key to addressing the taboo. We offer a range of tailor made Menopausal Awareness Training Programs to enhance awareness among all employees, managers and HR personnel. The aim is to promote greater inclusivity of menopausal staff and help organisations put structures in place to support affected employees throughout this transition so they continue to be a productive, valued and happy team member.
